About Solvent Sunny waterslide decal paper: Solvent decal paper is a completely new product.
It is produced using Roland UV solvent inks. The paper also works fine with other solvent inks. The A02 white ink version is a specially developed solvent decal paper for the use of white ink. The material has a slightly higher ink absorption and is therefore slightly thicker (18 microns) compared to the standard solvent decals (14-15 microns).
Although it is slightly thicker, the decal is nicely flat on the subject and works slightly easier with larger decals. This A02 also has a slightly higher adhesive strength, making it even better adheres to the subject without it being difficult to release.
There are even users of the A02 solvent decal paper who report that they no longer use a top coat, because the decal sticks well enough of itself. Solvent Sunny waterslide decal paper is suitable for printing with a resolution of up to 2880dpi. So it can handle a high dpi that professional printers work with.
A small example, a high-quality professional photo is printed at around 600dpi. The paper can therefore be used to apply very high-quality photos to a subject.
About decal paper in general: with this decal paper you can print your decals yourself. It is intended for decoration material and not for products that are frequently used and / or wetted. However, if you wish to do so, the necessary finishing with clear coat or epoxy (envirotex) is required.
The paper can be used on almost all surfaces, as long as they are smooth. Think of: lacquered / painted wood, candles, glass, plastic, ceramic, polyester, metal.
Some examples where the decal paper is frequently used are in making / decorating: lures (angling), model building, nail art, cards, candles, glasses or cups as decoration object and much more.
The transparent version is intended for if you do not want to cover the surface on non-printed parts or if you want to let the surface (think of the color and structure) play a part in the decal.
Please note that what is transparent with the printed image, for example, a yellow sticker on clear decal paper on a blue background may appear green or darker. The amount of ink transparency varies by type and brand of ink.
Would you rather not have a color influence through the background and do you not mind seeing white in unprinted places? Then choose the white version.
The paper consists of a carrier with a wafer-thin film layer and an adhesive layer. The actual decal consists of only ink with a thin film layer with an adhesive layer below.
Solvent decal paper does not need to be painted, but it can make installation easier. It also protects the print when processing the decal. Experiments are required for the type of clear coat. An acrylic-based clear coat does adhere to the decal, but whether it adheres well to the ink depends on the type and brand of ink.
A 2-car paint can very probably be used, but here too a test needs to be done.
